STEWARDSHIP OF OUR ENVIRONMENT

THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS WERE APPROVED BY THE CONVENTION:

Encouraged all to become active stewards of water resources. Guidelines given. Ask US Government for public policy to ensure clean water available to all

Encourage Episcopal Ecological Network's efforts concerning spirituality and food production

Support work of Anglican Environmental Network, ask all churches to place environmental care on their agenda

Congregations and dioceses encouraged to develop plan for building and grounds management that phases out unsafe pesticides, herbicides, and other toxic chemicals


 

Think Globally -- but eat locally:

Resolution C026 (Diocese of Massachusetts)

Urge congregations, dioceses, provinces and all church institutions to initiate a plan in the next triennium for the management of Church buildings and grounds that phases out the use of pesticides and other toxic chemicals to control pests and institutes the use of alternatives, recognizing that children are the population most susceptible to toxins.
