EDUCATION

THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS WERE APPROVED BY THE CONVENTION:

Establishd Task Force on the future of theological education in the Church

Church to study Companions in Transformation: The Episcopal Church's World Mission in a New Century.
Study materials included.

Anti-racism initiatives to continue

Education to be instituted in church schools to prevent spread of HIV

Intern and other programs for young adults to be offered by national church

Establish Task Force on Lifelong Christian Education and Formation

Urged dioceses to consider 21st century ministry needs, especially for skills in intercultural leadership, foreign languages, anti-racism education, church planting, congregational revitalization, evangelism, and management of conflict and change, in discernment and recruitment of persons for lay and ordained ministry.
Every congregation to provide basic education about the role of money in the life of a Christian.
