In 2008 we will publish the Desert Spirit every other month for a total of six issues: January, March, May, July, September, and November. Deadlines for submission of articles is the 15th of the month prior to publication.

EXTRAS! EVENTS, GREAT STORIES AND STUFF

planned giving seminars scheduled

The Episcopal Church Foundation’s planned giving seminar is designed to educate church leaders on relevant fund raising principals so that they can more effectively raise resources for Episcopal congregations. It is sponsored by the Planned Giving committee of the Diocese of Nevada and will feature Natalie Guthrie from the Episcopal Foundation in New York.

Las Vegas Session
Christ Church on May 9 from 5:00 - 9:00pm, dinner provided. Cost $10 at the door.

Reno Session
Trinity on May 10 between 10:30 and 2:30, lunch provided. Cost $10 at the door.

The session covers ways to build and manage a year-round gift planning program. Attendees will become equipped to raise awareness, market the program and talk to donors.It is open to everyone who is interested and especially the leadership of each parish and all stewardship chair persons.
